Making your wedding truly memorable with one of these unique venues

Perhaps the biggest decision couples face while planning a wedding is choosing the venue. What type of venue best suits you, your future betrothed, and your friends and family? In this day and age, many brides-to-be are looking for truly unique venues, as the traditional church wedding isn’t always a top choice. Here are some great ideas to get you started, presented by Party Favor Website.

How to choose the perfect venue?

As you work to decide what will fit your ceremony and make your day as memorable as possible, there are some questions you should ask yourself. For example, does the venue fit with your wedding theme? A rustic venue for a modern wedding may not work. And what about the cost? One of the most important things to consider when choosing a venue is your budget and the guestlist. You don’t want to try to squeeze 200 guests into a tiny venue - no matter how cool it is -- or put yourself in debt for your big celebration

In the end, there really are plenty of options for interesting and creative wedding venues that don’t have to break the bank.

Cool Idea #1: A Dog Park

If you and your partner are dog lovers and have a bunch of dog-loving friends, a dog park is a cool and unusual place to hold your ceremony. Plenty of dog parks also double as regular parks, filled with beautiful green spaces, trees, and plenty of room to set up chairs for guests. And what could be more fun than having your best canine friends surround you for one of the most important moments of your life?

Cool Idea #2: A Museum

One great thing about getting married at a museum is that most of the decoration and staging is built-in. What could be a cooler backdrop for vows than a timeless work of art? How about some centuries-old antiques? You can tailor your museum wedding to match you and your partner’s interests, and the options are numerous (think space, science, art, or history!). Plus, many museums offer event space that will not only work for the ceremony, but also for the reception.

Cool Idea #3: An Old Movie Theater

Are you and your betrothed movie lovers? An old movie theater can be the perfect backdrop for a film-centric party. Many old theaters contain beautiful architecture and interior design, plus you have access to a movie screen! You could project your favorite film or even a pre-made reel of photos and videos of you and your partner. If you really want to dig deep into this theme (think golden age of cinema or animation), then a movie theater is the place for you.

Cool Idea #4: An Amusement Park

Many brides-to-be struggle to figure out how to best entertain guests during the reception. Sure, a band and some drinks are fun, but what about kicking it up a notch with a wedding after-party with roller coasters? Theme parks are open-air, and can accommodate large crowds, so they are perfect for staging a large wedding. Disney World, Cedar Point, and Busch Gardens are all great options around the U.S.

Cool Idea #5: Your Home

If you’d rather stick closer to home, you can do just that — by having the wedding in your own backyard! This might require a little work, especially if you want your home to look spectacular on the big day, but it will all be worthwhile in the end — and you may discover that you’ve added value to your home should you decide to sell it at some point down the road! Just make sure you have enough room (and parking space!) to accommodate your guests.

As long as you stay within your budget and find a venue that can accommodate the size of your crowd, the sky's the limit. A venue is what you make it, and if you and your partner want to show your creative sides, there’s no reason to stick with the usual options. Going with an unusual venue for your nuptials can truly give this event the magic it deserves.
